Joe Rigby Solo CD on Homeboy Music

announcement:

This is part of a message I received from Roy Morris at Homeboy Music earlier in the week.

[...] In 2008, on joe rigby's first visit to us in scotland, he made a
quite sublime solo recording. more than an hour's worth of music
with, at its heart, a lengthy version of the black national anthem,
'lift every voice and sing'.
[...]
joe was back in scotland in november and made 2 further recordings.
another solo, and an amazing spontaneous meeting with a local
bagpiper (!) and drummer to create a whole new sound.
by the way www.homeboy-music.com has been updated with some
interviews with earl cross
[...]

I haven't heard the new CD yet, but the earlier CDs from Homeboy were well worth a listen.

As always - passing this along altruistically, take a look at Homeboy's website for more...

"Music" has arrived...

Only listened once, but a very strong statement in the "traditional-free" axis.
