SHOKO NAGAI
Ephemeral
_____________
New York-based composer/pianist Shoko Nagai's Ephemeral is a meditation on traditional Japanese music. The work, which unites Gagaku (Japan’s oldest classical music) & the sounds of Noh theater with contemporary western, experimental electronic & improvisational elements, is rich with complex textures & an open sense of time.
