Freejazz.org is a discussion group for people interested in the "free jazz" musical style.

Freejazz.org has no affiliation with any organisation involved in the musical sales or marketing; people who are active in such a capacity (other than as practicing artists) should identify their affiliation either when they register as participants (if and when registration is required) or within their posts.

Freejazz.org exists to encourage discussion - when new topics are suggested the moderators will initially confirm that the topic is distinct from any previous discussions. Once a discussion is underway moderation will be as light as possible.

Participation in freejazz.org is reliant upon your acceptance of these terms and conditions. By participating in this forum, you acknowledge your full acceptance of these terms.

You will not post or transmit through freejazz.org any defamatory, threatening, obscene, harmful, pornographic or other material which would violate or infringe in any way upon the rights of others, or which would give rise to criminal or civil liability and / or violate federal or local law or regulation. You may not transmit materials which encourage conduct that constitutes a criminal offence.

You will not upload, post, or otherwise make available on (or through) freejazz.org any material protected by copyright, trademark or other proprietary right without the express permission of the owner of such copyright, trademark or other proprietary right; nor encourage others to do so.

Posters may assign themselves an alias; and although these assignments are changeable posters are advised (to increase their credibility) to use the same name (or alias) in all of their postings. Excessive use of multiple aliases may be considered a violation of this AUP.

Whenever you post a message on freejazz.org your alias will automatically appear with your message. You may choose any name to use, however, you may not use a user name (or e-mail address) that attempts to impersonate another person or that freejazz.org deems to be offensive.

Remember that when you post an opinion, it is an opinion and not a statement of fact. This also applies when you read an opinion.

Read your posts before you submit them - the moderators do not correct spelling or grammar, it's up you you to make sure that a posting correctly represents what you want to say (the language of the group is English - apologies to those for whom English is a second tongue, we welcome your contributions, and understand).

Try to keep discussions constructive and positive - it's reasonable to have a negative opinion on some matters, but explain why you hold your opinion. freejazz.org should be a place where opinions are shared honestly and frankly - it's not an "everything is wonderful" world, and we need to acknowledge this - but postings which go no further than "xxx sucks" are likely to be removed,

The freejazz.org moderators may decide to ban participants - if so the person(s) will be informed and a notification will be posted by the administrators - if any person has been removed from the forum for whatever reason they should no longer be the subject of any discussion, this is only fair as they no longer have any right of reply.

Freejazz.org sits harmoniously in the music community along with many other music forums, as such it is not acceptable to bring any personal argument from another place onto freejazz.org.

Freejazz.org is a distributor only (and not a publisher) of its interactive community. The content is supplied by the individual posters with occasional responses from freejazz.org administrators. Freejazz.org shall not be responsible for policing, monitoring, or editing such content, exercises no more editorial control over such content than would a public library, bookstore, newsstand, or other distributor of content, and accordingly, shall not be responsible for exercising editorial control over such content. Freejazz.org shall have the right, but not the obligation, to monitor all content in order to respond to or comment upon communications by individual posters and in order to determine compliance with the foregoing rules of conduct. Freejazz.org shall have the right and sole discretion to edit, to refuse to port or to remove any content whatsoever which it finds to be in violation of this AUP, or which it finds in its sole discretion to be otherwise objectionable for any reason.

Freejazz.org is not responsible for any materials provided by members which are deemed harmful or offensive to others. Freejazz.org is not responsible in any way for any injury, loss, or damage which occurs as a result of an opinion expressed or information provided in these sections of the site.

Freejazz.org makes no warranties, express or implied, as to the content in the freejazz.org site or the accuracy or reliability of any information or statements contained therein. All statements, advice and opinions made by individual posters on this forum are those of the posters only. Freejazz.org neither endorses nor shall be held responsible for the reliability or accuracy of same.
